Last February 5th and 6th, taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria was the first european event on cities transitioning towards circular economy organized by 2Ei and co funded by EIT Climate-KIC. Supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, EIT Climate-KIC is a European knowledge and innovation community, working to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy.
It is in this context and since March 2018 that 2Ei is part of the “Circular Cities” consortium. With its partners of the consortium- C40, municipalities of Malmö, Helsinki and Copenhagen, Aarhus university and Cleantech Bulgaria- 2Ei is working to promote and accelerate circular economy and innovations as a planning tool in municipalities.
Beyond the organization of the event, 2Ei with the support and participation of Veolia Bulgaria, has facilitated and participated in the development of creative workshops with the EIT Climate-KIC, Cleantech Bulgaria and the Municipality of Maribor, Slovenia.
These two collective working days not only allowed the development of a network of public and private actors for the transition, but also gathered different visions, issues and solutions. All of which will soon be summed up in a whitepaper co written by 2Ei and published by EIT Climate-KIC end of 2019.
