Recently, alarming information on the disappearance of insects has been reported by newspapers (Le Monde 13/02, Les Echos 18/02, 16/02, 12/02, LCI 18/02, ...). This informations alert us about the speed of their disappearance and about the consequences on biodiversity and humanity. 2EI, in collaboration with the National Museum of Natural History of Paris, has developed a service of automated biodiversity monitoring. This service, called VERBATIM, evaluates the health status of biodiversity in areas managed by Municipalities and Industries. The automated monitoring of bats is a good indicator: their variations in abundance and activity reflect positive or negative impacts on our ecosystems. Mostly insects consumer (in our regions), the survival of bats is strongly related to the abundance of insects.
